Running first, because it is the sport with the most arithmetic in it: time, distance and pace where any two give the third; a race prediction by two formulas that disagree, because the spread between them is the honest answer; a pace band that adds up to the target whatever the strategy; five training paces from one recent race, each with what it is for; what a hill costs and a descent gives back; a swim as a time per hundred; and how far each pair of shoes has gone.
Then the bicycle β seven power zones from a threshold, every combination of chainring and sprocket with its development and its speed, and a frame size in the unit the frame is actually sold in. Then the gym: a step goal built up week by week, a total scored by Wilks, DOTS and IPF points at once because they rank differently, what to put on each side of the bar found by an exact search, and a week of training built from six movement patterns.
Then the things that get scored and organised: a golf handicap index from a season with the published short-season rule, ten frames of bowling with their bonuses, every way to finish what is left on a dartboard, a seeded knockout draw, a fixture list where every pair meets once and the sides alternate, and a league table under two or three points for a win. Last, out of doors β Naismith with Langmuir's correction, air consumption, climbing grades, line capacity and the room a pool table needs β and two tools about a price rather than a performance.
Running pace
Time, distance and pace: any two of them give the third, with a table of splits
Race time predictor
What a result at one distance says about another, by two formulas that disagree
Pace band
A target time spent across a race, split by split, evenly or not
Training paces
Five paces from one recent race, each with what it is for
Hill-adjusted pace
What a climb costs and a descent gives back, and the flat pace it is worth
Swim pace
A swim as a time per hundred, per length, and at every pool distance
Shoe mileage
How far each pair has gone and how much is left, with the life a rule of thumb
Power zones
The seven zones from a threshold power, and the watts per kilogram behind them
Gear ratios
Every combination of chainring and sprocket, with its development and its speed
Bike size
A frame size and a saddle height from an inside leg, in what the frame is sold in
Step goal
A daily step count built up week by week, with what it comes to in distance and time
Lifting score
A total scored by Wilks, DOTS and IPF points at once, because they rank differently
Plate loading
What to put on each side, searched exactly rather than greedily
Workout plan
A week built from six movement patterns, with the equipment there is
Golf handicap
An index from a season of rounds, and the handicap you play off on a given course
Bowling score
Ten frames scored with their bonuses, and a running total after each
Darts checkout
Every way to finish what is left, shortest first, and the scores that have none
Tournament bracket
A seeded knockout draw with the byes where a seeding puts them
Round robin
Every entrant against every other, once, with the sides alternating
League table
A table from a season of results, with two points for a win or three
Hiking time
Naismith's rule with Langmuir's correction, and what the descent is really worth
Air consumption
What a dive says about a diver's breathing rate at the surface β not a dive plan
Climbing grades
One route in every scale that names it, and why they are not equivalents
Line capacity
How much line a spool holds when the diameter changes, and how much backing
Table room size
How big a room a table and a cue need, which is bigger than the cue
Odds converter
The same price decimal, fractional and American, with the margin a market carries
Parlay
Several bets multiplied together, and how the margin compounds along with them
